My 90 Seconds guide to setup Domain controller and OCS 2007 R2 Standard Edition.

First of all this doesn’t mean that you will install OCS 2007 R2 in 90 seconds. This means that you will read this whole article in 90 seconds. J

1.       Setup the domain controller.

2.       Add IIS and Certificate authority to the domain controller. (A small clarification guys IIS is not for the OCS in this case it for the certificate authority for the functionality of the certificate web enrolment.)

3.       Add the second windows server to the domain.

4.       Configure IIS and massage queuing service there. It’s very important that you select MSMQ service because I have read some document that doesn’t explain the requirement of the MSMQ. This is a mandatory service for the archiving and monitoring service.

5.       OCS installation is quite straight forward because that is the most user friendly installation wizard that I have scene.  To start with prepare the windows forest and the Domain. If you have missing components like dotnet or C ++ setup will install those for you. (That’s why I like Microsoft no stupid errors like that library is missing this file is missing.)

6.       Go ahead with the deploy server.

7.       Then configure the certificate. Since you are in the domain it will automatically detect your CA and request the certificate from there.

8.       Then import a ceritificate to the IIS server by clicking IIS management à default web site properties à Directory Security à Secure Communication à Server certificate and go ahead with the wizard.

9.       Pray if you are religious and click on the start services. If you follow this all the services should come up.

Very straight forward. Sorry guys I wrote this article in a very vague way. Because process is quite simple. Always you can comment on this post with issues I ll replay as time permits.
